Windell L. Henson, 78, of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, November 25, 2011 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. He was born on November 9, 1933 in Matthews, MO, the son of James Wilburn and Hazel Pointer Henson. On June 23, 1967 Windell was united in marriage to Bettye "Susie" Dunn in Canton, MO. She survives. Other survivors include five sons, Tim Henson and John Henson both of Keokuk, IA, Allen Henson of Hamilton, IL, Kerry Henson of Quincy, IL and James Henson of Wayland, MO, many grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. three brothers, James Henson, Danny Eaton of Keokuk, IA, Gregory Eaton of Springfield, MO, six sisters, Sherlene Duncan, Carolyn Harryman and Paula Yokum all of Keokuk, IA, Anita Schall of Ft. Dodge, IA, Linda Klingle of Iowa and Gloria Schneider of Quincy, IL, several aunt and uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Galen Eaton, Larrel Eaton and Wandas Henson and one sister, Doris Clark. He was a member of the Anchor of Hope Church in Keokuk, IA. He had been employed at the Benevolent Union Home, Drydens and Epic Enterprises all in Keokuk, IA. He also did timber work for most of his life. Windell enjoyed playing dominos and reading the Bible. He also enjoyed watching the old westerns on television and reading western novels. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Anchor of Hope Church, 1628 Concert Street in Keokuk with Reverend John Curtis officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Anchor of Hope Church.
