Wilma Ladine Wallace, 80, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. She was born December 13, 1927 in Carthage, IL, the daughter of Leslie and Myrtle Mills Huff. She was united in marriage to Jack Wallace in 1957. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1981. Wilma worked at Sheller Globe for 23 years before retiring for medical reasons. Following her retirement she and her husband, Jack, owned and operated Sugar Valley Campground & CB sales. She enjoyed spending time outdoors. She loved animals, especially horses and her dogs. Wilma is survived by her son, David Wallace, of Iowa, one close nephew, William Larson, of Keokuk, her companion, Joe Lester, of Keokuk, a close friend, Sharon Perry, of Keokuk, and several other nieces and nephews. Sharon and Joe took care of Wilma during her battle with lymphoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Janet Clark, and one brother, Bill Huff. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Geoff Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL.
