View Video Tribute William Harold "Sonny" Bryant, 75, of Argyle, IA, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 13, 2009. He was born on May 13, 1934 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Alfred Harold and Blanche Virginia Hatfield Bryant. He had been employed at Keokuk Steel Castings for 25 years and retired in 1979. He also worked for the Keokuk Mattress Company and had worked as an upholsterer owning and operating Bryant's J S Upholstery Shop in Argyle, IA. He also farmed. Sonny enjoyed fishing, processing deer, collecting guns, reloading ammunition and quilting. Sonny is survived by two sons, Randy Bryant and his wife Michele of Donnellson, IA, and Joe Bryant and his wife Laura of Argyle, IA, one daughter Shelly Lipper and her friend Ralph Wittenberg of Arbela, MO, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother, Richard Bryant and his wife Barb of Keokuk and a special aunt, Verle McCombs of Farmington, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Leonard and Keith. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 18 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Clegguart Mitchell officiating. Memorials may be made to the Argyle Fire Department.
