William E. Juhl, 73, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Keokuk, IA, died August 10, 2016 in St. Louis.
He was born on February 18, 1943 in Keokuk, IA, the son of C. Everett and Nellie Elston Juhl. He graduation from Fairview one-room school, attended Keokuk Community College, Iowa State and Graduated from the University of Iowa.
He was employed by the Food and Drug Administration in St. Louis as a chemist where he met his future wife, Yvonne. He married Yvonne Pfabe on August 21, 1977 in St. Louis. She survives.
Other survivors include his brother-in-law of Jerrald (Esther) Pfabe, uncles, Eldon "Moose" (Betty Ann) Pfabe and Oliver Eckert, nieces, Rebeca Pfabe (Maury Higgins), Susan Pfabe-Wiggans (Scott Wiggans) and Kristin Pfabe, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his his parents and aunts and uncles, Kenneth (Lola) Juhl, Norman (Maxine) Juhl, Carl Elston, Flossie (Clarence) Youngquist, Goldie (Jesse) Hagmeier, Mabel (Carl) Weirather, Paul (Kathryn) Elston, Gerald Elston and Donald (June) Elston.
William was drafted into the army during the Vietnam War and served for two years at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C.
He loved to travel, frequently to Iowa, which he considered his 'home'. He was a longtime volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, IA.
