William "Bill" Paul Searsen, 74, of Keokuk, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at his home.
He was born on November 15, 1942 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Van and Dorothy Henke Searsen. On February 14, 2005, Bill was united in marriage to the love of his life, Cathy Searsen in Keokuk. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Kathy Schulte (Tyler) of Montrose, Amanda Searsen and Anna Searsen both of Keokuk, one step-son, Jason Feikert (Jacinda) of Cedar Rapids, IA, one step-daughter, Amanda Feikert of Keokuk, sixteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Marie Crabtree (Jim) of Keokuk, two brothers-in-law, Leo Feikert (Peg) of Blandinsville, IL and Dennis Feikert of Montrose, a special brother, Roger Dickens of Burlington, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Steve Searsen and two brothers-in-law, Gary and John Feikert.
Bill graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 1961. He attended Southeastern Community College.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country as a Morse Code Translator during the Vietnam War.
Bill had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for forty-two years and retired in 2004.
Bill was a tech junkie and was always interested in the latest electronic gadgets
and enjoyed spending time on the computer. His favorite pastime was watching trains pass by and taking pictures and videos of them. He loved his fur baby, Ginger, who was his constant companion. Bill was a wonderful, devoted husband and father who loved his wife and children deeply.
A graveside service with military rites was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 9th, 2017 at the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk.
