Obituary

Wilbur E. Haage, 85, of Argyle, IA, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the West Point Care Center in West Point, IA. He was born on February 10, 1928 in Kahoka, Mo the son of John and Elma Dixon Haage. On May 31, 1949 he was united in marriage to Darlene Link in Wayland, MO. She survives. Other survivors include, one daughter, Deborah Sue Case and her husband Shawn of Argyle, IA, two grandchildren, Lisa Kemper and her husband Robb and Shawn M. Case and his wife Jennifer, six great-grandchildren, Jeremy Kemper, Dillon Kemper, Austin Kemper, Wyatt Case, Marshall Case and Logan Case, one brother, Delbert Haage and his wife Janet of Keokuk, IA and one sister, Elsie Ewart and her husband Norman of Winchester, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Glen Haage and one daughter, Linda Haage. Wilbur graduated from Wayland High School in Wayland, MO. He was employed at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Ft. Madison, IA for nineteen years. Then he worked at Sheaffer Pen in Ft. Madison, IA for fifteen years until his retirement. Wilbur was a Des Moines township Trustee for twenty years and served as a Des Moines Township Fireman for twenty-five years. He was an avid baseball fan and liked the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs. Wilbur enjoyed taking many camping trips to White River in Bull Shoals, AR. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, oCTOBER 15, 2013 at the Frazee Cemetery in Alexandria, MO with Pastor Bill Willis officiating. Memorials may be made to the family.
