Ward Londrie, 91, of Quincy, IL formerly of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Montebello Manor Health Care Center, Hamilton, IL. He was born on September 18, 1918 in Burnside, IL the son of Alfred L. and Pearl Ewing Londrie. He was united in marriage to Ellen Gittings on May 25, 1968 in Keokuk, IA. She preceded him in death on March 5, 1995. He was employed at Kresge in Keokuk and later K Mart in Quincy, IL for 31 years before his retirement in 1982. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling. He is survived locally by one nephew, Larry Londrie of Hamilton, IL and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Londrie of Hamilton, IL, four nieces, several great nieces and nephews, one great great niece and two great great nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. His body was donated to the University of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, IA for medical research. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, IA with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
