Sarah Waneta Bigelow, 81, of Keokuk died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. She was born on August 31, 1931 in Nevada, MO the daughter of Barney and Elizabeth Hallam Ewvarts. On August 21, 1949 she was united in marriage to Donald G. Bigelow in Sioux St. Marie, MI. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1990. Waneta had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for fifteen years. She had worked at several retail stores in Keokuk, including K-Mart for fifteen years, Jacks and Shopko. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Nevada, MO. Waneta enjoyed playing Bingo. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She is survived by two sons, Don Bigelow, Jr., of Keokuk and William "Bill" Bigelow of Keokuk, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sheryl Heavin and two granddaughters, Tonya Bigelow and Pamela Jo Cooper. According to her wishes, there will be no services or visitation.
