Walter Galen Eaton, 59, of Keokuk, IA, died peacefully at his home in Keokuk on Friday, May 25, 2007. He was born on August 25, 1947 in Charleston, MO, the son of Walter and Hazel Pointer Eaton. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served for three years during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at Union Carbide in Keokuk, for fifteen years. He then moved to Kansas City, MO where he lived until a year ago when he returned to Keokuk. Walter enjoyed fishing and reading. He is survived by one daughter, Sherie Calhoun of Warsaw, IL, seven sisters, Doris Clark of Medill, MO, Anita Schall of Ft. Dodge, IA, Sherlene Duncan of Keokuk, IA, Linda Klingle of Ft. Dodge, IA, Carolyn Harryman of Keokuk, IA, Gloria Snyder of Payson, IL and Paula Yocum of Keokuk, IA, five brothers, James Henson of Keokuk, IA, Windell Henson of Keokuk, IA, Gregory Eaton of Springfield, MO, Danny Eaton of Keokuk, IA and Larrel Eaton of Keokuk, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Wandas Henson. According to his wishes his body has been cremated. A graveside service with military rites was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Keokuk National Cemetery with Reverend Harry Miller officiating.
