Virginia Alice Woodley, 85, of Donnellson, IA, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Montrose Care Center. She was born on March 8, 1930 in Ft. Madison, IA the daughter of Harry Leo and Thelma Aletha Hamilton Hawes. She graduated from the Ft. Madison High School with the Class of 1947. On February 16, 1956, Virginia was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Woodley Sr. in Ft. Madison, IA. They made their home in Donnellson, IA where they raised their children and shared fifty-nine wonderful years of marriage. Virginia loved her community and had served as past Mayor of Donnellson. She also had been employed as site manager for the Donnellson Congregate Meals and worked at Schlicher Plumbing and Heating. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Virginia enjoyed reading mysteries and western novels, and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Virginia loved spending time with her family and attending family events. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Woodley of Donnellson, five children, David R. Woodley, his wife Karen and their children Angie and Jill, Michealyn "Mickie" Westermeyer, her husband Rocky and their children Candi and Jesse, Kim Heidbreder, her husband Stan and their children Jake and Jodi, Terry Woodley, his children Chloe and Sophie and their mother Tracy Woodley, Kenneth Woodley, Jr., his wife Karen and their children Cole, Jerald, Ben and Tim, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. There will be no services. The family requests no flowers or plants. A memorial has been established and memorials may be mailed to The Woodley Family, P.O. Box 93, Donnellson, IA 52625. The Vigen Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
