Virginia L. Winn, 78, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, IA. She was born on March 22, 1936 in Scotland County, Missouri, the daughter of Andrew and Mable Jeffrey Fogle. On June 5, 1951, Virginia was united in marriage to Junior Dee "Ernest" Winn in Scotland County, MO. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1999. Virginia had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for thirty-five years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk and the Keokuk Garden Club. Virginia loved to garden and beautiful flowers adorned every corner of her yard. She also enjoyed reading, browsing antique stores and going to garage sales during Old Threshers in Mt. Pleasant. She was a skilled seamstress and made clothes for her daughters when they were young. Virginia was a very giving person and was always willing to do things for others. She enjoyed making bread and giving it away to friends and neighbors to brighten their day. Virginia is survived by three daughters, Sally Gambrel, Leslie Rainbolt and her husband Jim and Vicki Tinder and her husband Tommy all of Keokuk, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Bennett of Edina, MO and two half-brothers, Gary Stice and Billy Stice both of Keokuk. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Wallace Fogle, one half-sister, Inez Fogle, one half-brother, Walter Fogle, and two sons-in-law, Jim Schlosser and Danny Lally. A private graveside service was held at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the Great River Hospice House, the Great River Cancer Center or the New Testament Christian Church.
