Virginia Louise Harryman, 73, of Keokuk, Iowa, died peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at her daughter's home in Chatsworth, Illinois.
She was born November 19, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Opaline Bishop Swafford. On August 30, 1951 Virginia was united in marriage to Gary Harryman. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2007.
She enjoyed collecting cookbooks and had over one thousand in her collection. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and traveling.
She is survived by one son, Michael Harryman and his wife Carolyn of Keokuk, Iowa, one daughter, Vicky Skow and her husband Richard of Chatsworth, Illinois, one daughter-in-law, Angeles Harryman of Dallas Texas, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one half-brother, James Swafford of Georgia.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Larry Harryman and Robert Harryman, one sister, Betty Pickens and one granddaughter, Daniela.
A graveside service for Virginia her husband Gary was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 28 at the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA with their son-in-law, Pastor Richard Skow officiating. A Military Rites Ceremony honored Gary's service as a Navy veteran.
