Victor Lloyd Hoewing, 92, of Kahoka, MO, died Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at his home. He was born August 14, 1913 in Clark County, MO, a son of Willis and Hallie Gibbons Hoewing. In 1938 he met Margaret Aline Coppa at the Grand Canyon where he was employed and she was visiting. They were married on June 11, 1939 in Flagstaff, AZ. Margaret preceded him in death on October 1, 2003. Victor grew up in Clark County, MO. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Public Administration in 1934. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. Moving to California in 1946, Victor worked as an accountant for Haughton Elevator Company in Los Angeles until 1968 when both he and Margaret retired. They loved to travel around the world by air and by sea. They moved to Kahoka on September 26, 2001. Victor was a very loving and devoted husband. Survivors include one sister, Violet Plenge of Kahoka, one brother-in-law, Joseph Coppa of Tempe, AZ, five nieces, Susanne Webster and her husband Dean of Kahoka, Mrs. Hugh (Susan) Plenge of Kahoka, Helen Louise Johnson of Norman, OK, Renee Hoewing of Bloomington, IL and Jennifer Hoewing of Kent, OH, four nephews, Dr. Jon Coppa and his wife Linda of Patagonia, AZ, Henry Plenge and his wife Jeanette and Hal Plenge, both of Kahoka and Harold Johnson and his wife Lorri of West Burlington, IA. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, one in infancy, Helen Lois Cavender and Hallie Louise Johnson, two brothers, Willis and his wife Janet and Ivan Hoewing, one niece Helen M. Plenge,one nephew, Hugh Plenge, one great niece, Lisa Webster and one great great nephew, Jacob Glasgow. Graveside services for Victor and Margaret were held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 17, 2006 at the St. Paul Cemetery in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Ken Beckmann officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UNICEF.
