Vickie Lynn Brookhart, 56, of Washington, IA died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Pearl Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Washington, IA.
She was born November 2, 1959 the daughter of John and Beverly Rowe Bowden. On December 11, 1978 she married the love of her life, Lucas Brookhart. He survives.
Other survivors include three children, Arion Brookhart of Jacksonville, IL, Talena Argueta of Mt. Pleasant and Jonathan Brookhart of Jacksonville, IL, six grandchildren, Ryan Brookhart, Leon Lopez, Elie Lopez, Carlos Argueta, Karina Argueta and Jeremiah Brookhart, her step dad, Frank Oertel of Peaksville, MO, five brothers, Rick Bowden of Keokuk, Jim (Becky) Bowden of Keokuk, Tim Bowden of Peaksville, MO, Terry Bowden of Keokuk and John (Cassie) Bowden of Peaksville, MO, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Oertel and father, John Bowden.
Vickie graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the Class of 1979.
She was employed with the Washington County Disability Center as the activity director for nine years until she retired in 2007.
She enjoyed doing various crafting projects including cross stitch and making crocheted blankets for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching TV especially anything on the TLC channel.
A memorial service was held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating.
