Vicki R. Cline, 58, of Olds, Iowa formerly of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at her mother's home in rural Keokuk, IA. She was born on October 3, 1947 in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Wayne and Lois Dresser Cline. Vicki graduated with the Keokuk High School class of 1965, and then attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. She had been working towards her Masters Degree before her retirement. Following her graduation from college she moved to Winfield, IA where she began her teaching career with the WACO Community School District. She lived in Winfield until 1979 when she moved to Olds, IA. She had been employed with the WACO Community School District as a teacher at the Elementary School in Crawfordsville, IA for 35 years, retiring in 2004. Vicki was a member of Finley Chapel in rural Mt. Pleasant, IA and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Chapter J of National T.T.T. Society and the Cherished Teddy Club in Mt. Pleasant, IA. She loved bears and had a large collection. Vicki loved to travel and helped chaperone student groups to Spain, France and Peru. She also enjoyed other trips including traveling to Florida for the Cherished Teddy Convention. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, cooking and reading. Vicki loved the company of her friends, family and her students. Following her retirement she continued working with students as a volunteer at the school in the computer lab. Vicki is survived by her mother, Lois Cline, a sister Mary Landwehr and husband Mikal, a brother, Don Cline and wife Donna, a nephew, Alan Cline, a niece, Kimberly Washburn, and several great nieces and nephews all of Keokuk, IA. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Cline and her grandparents. Funeral services were held at 10 A.M Wednesday, September 20at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Rev. Goldie Laymon officiating. A second servicewas held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the WACO High School in Wayland, IA with Pastor Hyeunmee Kang and Pastor Shirley Texter officiating. Burialwas in Finley Chapel Cemetery in rural Mt. Pleasant, IA. In lieu of flowers a new Teddy Bear may be brought to either service for the family to donate to a children's charity. Monetary memorials may be made to the Finley Chapel in rural Mt. Pleasant, IA, Lee County Hospice or the WACO Community School Foundation Fine Arts Center.
