Van "Andy" Anderson Allen, 44, of Wayland, Missouri, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 in Florence, Kentucky. He was born May 12, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Van and Zona Joy Riley Allen. On February 22, 1991, he was united in marriage to Gail Quirk in Florida. She survives. Other survivors include his parents, Zona Joy Lincoln of Wayland, Missouri and Van Allen of Donnellson, Iowa, a daughter Leurie Allen of Florida and her son Dylan Muff, a son Van A. Allen Jr. of Missouri, a sister Casey Lynn Allen of Keokuk, Iowa and her children Jenna May Bridges and Logan Allen, a half sister Beth Kendrick of Keokuk, Iowa and many aunts and uncles. Van has been a long haul truck driver all of his life most recently he has been employed with US Express. He enjoyed deer hunting, riding his Harley, fishing and visiting with family and friends. He was an outgoing person, loved to tell jokes and was a proud hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, Oct 13 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Wayland, Missouri. Visitation will be held after 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the POW / MIA or NRA.
