Obituary

Twila Rae Haeffner, 65, of Donnellson, IA, died Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on June 4, 1942 in Ft. Madison, IA, the daughter of Kenneth "Boge" and Kathryn Ivins Yaley. On November 9, 1962, Twila was united in marriage to Wayne Orville Haeffner in Denmark, IA. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2000. Twila had been employed by the Enhance Corporation through the Mobile Nursing and also at the Donnellson Care Center for fifteen years. She was a faithful member of the Harmony Bible Church in Danville, IA and was involved in many church activities and sang in the choir. She was also a member of Tri-T and the S.E. Iowa Girls Basketball Annual Trip Group. She enjoyed sewing, Christian music and baking. She had baked many cakes for family and friends and also for weddings. She was a loving mother and grandmother and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She is survived by three sons, Todd Haeffner and his wife Sarah of Montrose, IA, Timothy "Tim" Haeffner and his wife Lynne of Danville, IA, and Major Anthony "Tony" Haeffner, retired USAF, and his wife Samantha of Brimfield, IL, one granddaughter, Danielle Marie Haeffner, three grandsons, Kaleb Wayne Haeffner, Style Robert Haeffner and Matthew Porter Haeffner, one expected granddaughter, her mother, Kathryn Yaley of Denmark, IA, one sister, Delores Jackson and her husband Ronald of Danville, IA, two brothers, James Yaley and his wife Linda of Denmark, IA and Gary Yaley and his wife JoAnn of Ft. Madison, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her father. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 13 at the Harmony Bible church in Danville, IA with Reverend Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial was in the Argyle Memorial Park in Argyle, IA. Memorials were established for the the Harmony Bible Church, the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or Central Lee School.
