Tom Hendricks, 70, of Keokuk, IA, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at his home. He was born on April 2, 1937 in Keokuk, IA the son of Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Harrett Hendricks. On June 11, 1956 Tom was united in marriage to Donna Roland in Wever, IA. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Robin Satterly and her husband Glenn of St. Louis, MO, Wendy Hendricks and her partner Buzz Slentz of Smyrna, NY, four sons, Larry Hendricks and his wife Yalda of Jacksonville, FL, Scotty Hendricks of Keokuk, IA, Phillip Hendricks of Nashville, TN and Monty Hendricks of Coralville, IA, three granddaughters, one grandson and one great grandson, one sister, Linda Hester of Omaha, NE, two sisters-in-law, Linda Hendricks and Bea Hendricks, one brother-in-law, George Gilbert, nieces and nephews and two very special friends, Robert Borders and Delores Borders. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Al Hendricks and Harry Hendricks and one sister, Joy Gilbert. Tom graduated from Keokuk Senior High School with the Class of 1955. Tom had been self-employed in his own heating, air-conditioning and electrical business for the past thirty years. He was a member of the Keokuk Electrical Board. He had been very involved in running for many years and active in the Keokuk Running Club. Tom was instrumental in organizing charity races with the Keokuk Area Group Home and Ronald McDonald House being the recipients. At his request no formal service will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Area Group Home, 317 High Street, Keokuk, where his son, Scott, resides.
