Thelma Jeanne "Brandy" Bevel, 54, of Keokuk, IA, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born on July 28, 1952 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Harold and Florence Higbee Climer. She had been employed with Prime in Springfield, MO as a semi-truck driver and also at Tyson Foods in Berryville, AR. Thelma enjoyed reading watching television and singing Karaoke. She also enjoyed begin outdoors and riding motorcycles. Thelma loved her family and always looked forward to spending time with her grandson. Thelma is survived by one son, Shane Stepp of Keokuk, IA, one grandson, Colton Stepp of Ft. Madison, IA, two sisters, Christine Hartley and her husband Bill of Keokuk, IA and Ruth Fox and her husband Bill of Wayland, MO, six brothers, Joe Hardesty and his wife Kim of Unionville, MO, Earl Kite and his fiancé Michelle James of Warsaw, Il, Ernest Hammel and his wife June of Liberty, IA, James Hammel and his wife Debbie of Wellman, IA, Danny Hammel of Hawaii and Paul Hammel and his wife Tina of Palmyra, MO, nieces nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ruth E. Hammel and Jamie Hammel and one step-brother, Charles McKinna. A Visitation was held after 1 p.m., Friday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with the family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
