Terry Lee Balentine, 51 of Keokuk passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his home.
He was born January 26, 1973 in Keokuk the son of Donald R. and Catherine Altheide Balentine. He was raised by his grandmother, Alice Altheide Howard.
Terry graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1991.
Terry was very athletic. He played basketball, baseball, football and track all through high school. Later he played baseball for Southeastern Community College. He coached his daughter's basketball traveling team "The Infernos" to many championships. He also coached Brylee's softball team.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan. He loved a cold beer, dancing, good times and the Mississippi. He was a hugger and would light up a room whenever he walked in.
Terry was first married to Amy Porter, and together they welcomed their son, Bo. After their divorce, Terry later married Kristal Jones, and their union brought the blessing of their daughter, Brylee. They later divorced.
He is survived by his son, Bo Balentine (Kaylee), a daughter, Brylee Balentine and a granddaughter, Joslynn Rose Balentine. He is also survived by his three sisters, Corrina Jo Wells (Bruce), Belinda Greer and Rhonda Balentine, and a brother, Donald Balentine, Jr., his step-mother, Vicky Balentine, two nephews, Bryce Chatfield, and Donnie Balentine III, and seven nieces, Catherine Balentine, Meredith Bridges (Sawyer), Madeline Miller (Ethan), Reagan Dickens, Mercedes Dickens, Kayla Dickens, and Jaley Huffman, along with many other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Alice and Roy Altheide and Eulis and Genevieve Balentine, step-grandfather, Kenneth E. Howard, a sister, Genevieve Dawn Balentine.
A celebration of life will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Keokuk Yacht Club, 2029 River Road, Keokuk, IA with family meeting with friends at that time.
