Obituary

Theodore Lee "Ted" Gibson, 74, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Blessing Health Keokuk. He was born on April 4, 1947 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Roy and Mary Ellen Egley Gibson. He graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1965. On September 2, 1979, Ted was united in marriage to Barbara Jo Greenslaugh in the Rand Park Flower Garden in Keokuk. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2015. Ted had been employed at Hubingers/Heinz/Roquette in Keokuk for over forty years. He had also owned and operated Gibson Pest Control in Keokuk. He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Keokuk, the Southside Boat Club and the Keokuk Yacht Club. Ted enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his friends. He loved animals and had many pets over the years. Ted is survived by three sons, Randy Gibson and his wife Brenda of Utah, Dan Gibson of Keokuk and Troy O'Shea of Keokuk, two daughters, Brenda Heavin and her husband James of Columbia, MO and Tracy O'Shea of Keokuk, his grandchildren, Courtney Gibson, Alexis (Jamie) Scordino, Michael Gibson, Dayton (Taylor) Gibson, Allyson Gibson, Emily Gibson, Sydni (Justin) Hendricks, Clay Heavin and Briley O'Shea and one great-grandchild, Milo Scordino. He is also survived by two sisters, Pauline Lorenz (Gary Sage) of Keokuk, Colleen Grisham of Keokuk and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Kenneth Gibson, one nephew, Rick Lorenz and one brother-in-law, Ron Lorenz. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Friends of Keokuk Animal Shelter (FOKAS).
