Sydney Diane Garcia, 65 of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at her home. She was born August 29, 1956 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of David LeRoy and Judith Faye Murphy Harrison. On December 20, 1975 Sydney was united in marriage to Elmer "Al" Garcia in Hamilton, IL. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2016. Sydney was of the Catholic faith and had been baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching Thursday night PBS on television, cooking and taking joy rides around town with the top down in her convertible. Sydney is survived by two sons, Samuel Garcia (Cindy Carrey) of Hamburg, NY and Richie Garcia of California, two step-daughters, Jennine Rose Harrison of Burlington, IA and Heather Queen (Drew) of New Hampshire, nine grandchildren, Clara Rose, Juliana Maria, Gabriella Lee, Keri, Michael, Kelsey, Ryan, Sofie and Madaline and two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kyson. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Ellen Groves of Keokuk, two brothers, David LeRoy Harrison of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Anthony Wayne Murphy (LouAnn) of Osage, IA, one step-sister, Kathy Morris (John) of Keokuk, four half-sisters, Vickie Gilbert (Ray) of Wayland, MO, Amy Harrison of Keokuk, Becky Crowell (Shawn) and Rachel Robinson (Mark) of Carbondale, IL and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents. There will be no services.
