Susan Marie Hayden, 57, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at her home in Hamilton.

She was born June 13, 1968, in Burlington, the daughter of Francis and Hilda (Bolton) Sadler. She graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1986 and later earned her degree in respiratory therapy from Southeastern Community College in Keokuk.

Susan was employed at Birkwood in Ft. Madison as a respiratory therapist, where she dedicated herself to caring for others. Prior to that, she worked at Mississippi Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation and the Keokuk Veterinary Clinic.

On May 29, 2021, she was united in marriage to John Michael Hayden at Pierre Marquette State Park. He survives.

In addition to her husband, Susan is also survived by her children, Emily Yoe of Altoona and Russell Yoe (Myrra Sanchez) of Mt. Pleasant; her cherished grandchildren, Ezekiel Yoe, William McLain, Jude Lenze, Greysyn Schultz, Leo Sanchez and a granddaughter on the way, her mother, Hilda Sadler of Keokuk; two sisters, Debbie Cahill (John) and Sandy Baker; and two brothers, Don Sadler (Cass) and Ron Sadler (Mary Lou), along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Susan was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She found joy in working outdoors, especially tending to her yard and planting flowers. She loved spending time in her backyard during the summer, relaxing by her pool and soaking up the sunshine. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

A gathering of remembrance will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., May 16, at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, with the family meeting with friends during that time.
