Sue West, 65, of rural Argyle, IA, died Friday, April 27, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on December 30, 1941 in Ft. Madison, IA , the daughter of Harry and Dorothy Hughes Davolt. On June 29, 1963, Sue was united in marriage to James West in Ft. Madison, IA. He survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Marlas Shoemaker of Keokuk, IA, Lisa Evans of Galesburg, IL and Jamie Hall and her husband Jason of Keokuk, IA, six grandchildren, Ryan Sturm, Tyler Sturm, Katy Sturm, Reilly Shoemaker, Allison Evans, and Noah Evans, one brother, Rick Davolt of Ft. Madison, IA, one sister, Lori Davolt of Ft. Madison, IA, a niece and several aunts. She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles. Sue graduated from Ft. Madison High School with the Class of 1959 and then attended and graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy in Burlington, IA. She was a member of the Bethel Bible Church in rural Donnellson, IA. She loved her family very much and her children and grandchildren were the center of her life. Her greatest love was attending her children's and grandchildren's recitals and school programs. A private family graveside service was held.
