Obituary

Sue Ann Erwin, 71, of Middletown, IA passed away peacefully Monday, January 13, 2025 at the Klein Center in West Burlington, IA.

She was born January 20, 1953 in Washington, IA the daughter of Guyford Glen and Marilyn Porter Daut. She graduated from Wilton High School with the class of 1971.

On December 4, 1971 Sue was united in marriage to Stanley Walter Erwin in Wilton, IA. They shared fifty-three wonderful years of marriage together. He survives.

She is also survived by her son, Joshua Erwin of Ottumwa, IA, two grandchildren, Abby Erwin and Brody Erwin and her four-legged companion, Gus who brought her endless companionship.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sue was a member of Harmony Bible Church in Burlington, where she found comfort in her faith and cherished the friendships she built within the congregation.. Sue's artistic talents were evident in her love for crafting, creating pieces that brightened the lives of those around her. She adored flowers, whether tending to her own garden or appreciating the blooms that symbolized life's beauty. Sue had an adventurous spirit and found happiness in traveling, embracing new experiences, and creating memories with her family and friends.

Above all, Sue's greatest joy came from her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
