Shirley Yvonne White, 64 of Keokuk died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.
She was born February 13, 1951 in Rector, AK the daughter of Vernie and Alberta Hargett Robinson.
Shirley had been employed at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk for fifteen years until her retirement in 2012.
She was a member of God's Way Christian Center in Keokuk.
Shirley enjoyed gardening and grew beautiful roses. She was a skilled seamstress and created all kinds of clothing, pillows, quilts, blankets and Halloween costumes for her family. She liked to spend time on the computer and was a Facebook addict. Shirley loved to go to flea markets and garage sales. Shirley adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Shonna Havens (John) of Phoenix, AZ, Bryanna Marshall (Sammy Kay) of Revere, MO and Leeanna Baker (Rick) of Keokuk, one son, Bobby Marshall (Crystal) of Ft. Madison, IA, longtime companion, Joseph Mecum of Keokuk, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marilyn Anderson of Pocahontas, AR and Theresa Holt (Dempsey) of Searcy, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Lee Marshall, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-5 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
