Shirley Leona Barnes Leedom, 72, of Henderson, IL, formerly of Clark County, MO, died Thursday, October 6, 2005 at the St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, IL. She was born March 6, 1933 in Medill, MO, a daughter of Russell Sam and Esther Newberry Barnes. She was united in marriage to James Bingham on January 4, 1950 in Canton, MO. She was later united in marriage to Kenneth Leedom on December 31, 1971 in Kahoka, MO. He survives. She is also survived by one daughter, Pat Knisley and her husband Dean of Wyaconda, MO, one step daughter, Marsha Davis and her husband Glenn of Peoria, IL, one son, James Michael Bingham of Lockport, IL, four grandchildren, Michael Grima, James Dean Knisley, Brian Robert Knisley, and Tara Marie Happs, two step grandchildren, Todd Franklin of Colona, IL and Glenn Davis of Peoria, IL, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Harper of Kahoka, MO, four brothers, Paul Barnes of Tullahoma, TN, Donald Barnes of Titusville, FL, John Barnes of Fort Madison, IA and Thomas Barnes of Wayland, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Joy Lea Bingham, one grandson, James M. Bingham, one great granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Knisley, and one brother, Russell L. Barnes, Jr. Shirley was raised and lived in Clark County, MO until 1967. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed golfing, and loved people. She was very outgoing and was a real people person. The love and wonderful memories she has created with her family and friends will never be forgotten. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 10, 2005 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Dick Clifford officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
