Shirley Glasscock, 78, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born on October 20, 1931 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Jesse and Alivra Samones Beard. She was united in marriage to Glen Glasscock. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1994. Shirley graduated from Robert Morris College with a degree in business. She worked for Hubinger's as a legal secretary and took an early retirement due to health reasons. She was active in BPW and American Legion as well as the PTA. She had many friends and loved to spend time with them. Her family was very dear to her and she will be missed. She is survived by one daughter, Beth Clinton of Carthage, IL, one son, Mark Glasscock of Carthage, IL, one granddaughter, Brandy Clinton Johnson and her husband Mike of Statesville, NC, and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Christopher Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her parents. A Graveside service was held Friday, October 23, at the Keokuk National Cemetery.
