Sheila Kay Gregory, 58, of Hamilton, IL. Passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007 in the comfort of her home, as a result of a brave battle with cancer.
She was born on December 31, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Floyd and Betty Marvell Belton. On April 8, 1972 Sheila was united in marriage to James (Tom) Gregory in Keokuk, Ia. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Dion Gregory of Hamilton, Il., Todd Gregory and his wife Sue of Houston, TX, Rich Gregory and his wife Kim of Clinton, IA, seven grand children, Dylan Sophie Gregory of Hamilton, IL., Jared Gregory of Carthage, IL., Justin Gregory of Clinton, IA., Colby, Trent, Jillian Gregory of Houston, TX., One brother, Mike Belton and his wife Pam of Keokuk, IA., her father, Floyd Belton Jr. of Davenport, IA., and a close constant friend Francis Lefler of Warsaw, IL.
She was preceded in death by her mother on April 3, 1973 and later her grandmother. She was a life long resident of Hamilton, IL and attended the Hamilton public schools. She had been employed by JB Automatic in Hamilton, IL for twenty-nine years. She was a Cub Scout Leader, Little League coach, and an avid sports supporter for her kids. She attended Golden Point Christian Church where she was a member, youth group leader, Sunday school teacher, deaconess and co-chaired the missions committee where she enjoyed serving.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and treasured the time she spent with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved taking her grandchildren camping at Cloud 9 Ranch. She enjoyed traveling to Branson for shopping, shopping, and shopping for crafts, good eatin' and listening to gospel music and additionally traveling to Arkansas with her friends where she enjoyed countless hours of friendship, memories, and relaxation through boating and spending time with her good friends. Above all she loved and trusted the Lord Jesus Christ.
Funeral services were at 10:00 am Thursday December 27, 2007 at Golden Point Christian Church, 5 miles north on 19th Street in Hamilton, with Pastor Kurt Smith officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton, IL.
