View Video Tribute Sandra F. LaBonte, 67, of Warsaw, IL, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on October 8, 1940 in Ravenscroft, TN, the daughter of Roy Cleveland and Edith LaVenna Page Nash. On July 24, 1960, Sandra was united in marriage to Carroll E. LaBonte. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Leon LaBonte and his wife Mary of Denver, IL, and Kevin LaBonte of Warsaw, IL, one daughter, Rebecca Dieffenbach and her husband Svend of Warsaw, IL, seven grandchildren, April, Dustin and Amber LaBonte, Jenna Phillips, Justin Dieffenbach, Chase and Kyler LaBonte, two sisters, Shirley Higbee and her husband Gene of Keokuk, IA and Sonia Rowlett and her husband Roy of Hamilton, IL, her stepmother, Donna Nash of Hamilton, IL numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister at birth and her parents. Sandra had been employed at Methode in Carthage, IL for eleven years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Warsaw where she had taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was also active as a Brownie Leader, a member of the T.O.P.S. Club, the Gold Wing Club and the Senior Citizen's Center in Warsaw. She enjoyed cross stitching and embroidery, reading Christian novels and collecting hummingbirds. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed taking camping trips with her family. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Dana Jurgens officiating. Memorials may be made to the Warsaw Ambulance Service or the American Cancer Society.
