View Video Tribute Sandra Kay Finley, 66, of Ft. Madison, IA, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her home. She was born on July 13, 1945 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Edgar and Dolores Malloy Hatfield. Sandra was raised by her mother and her stepfather, John Speake. She first married Arnie Becerra and to this union was born three children, Elissa, Melissa and Angel. They later divorced. On December 19, 1980, Sandra was united in marriage to James Finley in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2011. Sandra had been employed at the Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington, IA, Sheaffer Pen and Greenwalds Grocery Store in Ft. Madison, IA. She had also been the manager of the 7-11 Convenience Store in Ft. Madison, IA. Most recently she had been employed at the Gleason Corporation in Ft. Madison and retired from there in 1995. Sandra had also been an Avon Representative for many years. She was a member of the Sandusky United Methodist Church in Sandusky, IA. Sandra's life revolved around her family. She loved being a mom and her life's mission was to provide a wonderful home for her family. She shared in the activities of her children as they were growing up and was a Campfire Girl Leader for several years. Sandra was always ready to take care of all who needed her and was a loving caretaker for her mother and husband. She enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting and quilting. Sandra loved nature and she and her husband Jim enjoyed watching the birds and deer. Sandra is survived by two daughters, Elissa Chaney and her companion Raymond of Keokuk, IA, and Melissa Boyd and her husband Mike of Ft. Madison, IA , one step-son, Mike Finley and his wife Nina of Port Richey, FL, nine grandchildren, Crystal Becerra, who was raised by Jim and Sandra, of Ft. Madison, IA, John Chaney and his wife Crystal of Ft. Madison, IA, James Chaney and his significant other Misty McKnight of Keokuk, IA, Tyler Trueblood, Mariah Boyd and Orion Boyd all of Ft. Madison, IA, Tia Hardy and Felina Grose both of Florida, ten great-grandchildren, Kaylie and Madison Winn, Mallory Chaney, Ariana Guymon, Lathan Chaney, Angel Chaney, Lexus Chaney, Kearsten Hardy, Kylie Hardy and William Grose, two brothers, Jerry Hatfield of Donnellson, IA and John Phillip Speake and his wife Lynn of Burlington, IA, and one sister, Joyce VonEnde of Burlington, IA. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Angel Becerra, one granddaughter, Jennifer Chaney and one brother, Bob Hatfield. Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 9at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Jim Luder officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA.
