Sandra Sue DePew, 65, of Farmington, IA, died Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, IA. She was born on April 26, 1942 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Robert Grandville and Virginia Sorenson Whiteside. She married Jack Taylor on May 16, 1959. On September 14, 1975, Sandra was united in marriage to Earl DePew, Jr. in Keokuk, IA. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Stefanie Westercamp and her husband Roy of Mt. Sterling, IA, one son, Benjamin Scott Taylor and his wife Carla of Farmington, IA, four grandchildren, Aaron Westercamp, Allison Taylor, Mackenzie Taylor and Brandon Taylor, two sisters, Pam Ciciliano of Ft. Madison, IA, and Barbara Glasgow of Ft. Madison, IA, two half-brothers, Jack Schultz, Sr. of N. Richland Hills, TX, and Dick Schultz of St. Petersburg, FL, one step-sister, RuthAnn Scott of Quincy, IL, one step-brother, Bob Gundy of Keokuk, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Whiteside, Jr, one step-sister, Nancy Riddle and one half-sister, Joanne Pryor. Sandra worked as manger of Benner Tea Grocery in Farmington, IA for several years. She then was employed at Shellor Globe in Keokuk for twenty five years. Following her employment at Shellor's, she served as City Clerk in Farmington, IA for a short time. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Keokuk. Sandra loved working with ceramics and was an avid Nascar and Mark Martin fan. She also enjoyed raising miniature schnauzers. Sandra was a loving mother and grandmother and she was devoted to her family. A Gathering of Remembrance for family and friends was held on Monday, November 19 from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. A memorial has been established for her grandchildren.
