Obituary

Sandra Kay Arnold, 65, of Quincy, IL, formerly of Farmington, IA, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Blessing Hospital, Quincy, IL. She was born on February 20, 1947 in Kirksville, MO the daughter of Roy Henry and Mildred Simpson Arnold. On May 30, 1965 Sandra was united in marriage to Jim Alpha Arnold in Kirksville, MO. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2005. She graduated from the Memphis, Missouri High School with the Class of 1965. Sandra was employed as a Nurse's Assistant at the Sunset Nursing Home in Quincy, IL and also did private duty nursing until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Church of the Riverview Nazarene in Hannibal, MO and the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene in Quincy, IL. Sandra enjoyed making crafts, volunteering for various organizations and making trips to Wal-Mart. She also enjoyed attending revivals at church. Sandra loved music and shared that loved through singing. She was able to offer comfort to others by singing at funerals. Sandra was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Charles David Arnold and his wife Kelley of Quincy, IL, two grandchildren, David Charles Arnold and his fiancé Allison K. Andresen and Lauryn Taylor Arnold all of Quincy, IL, a future great-granddaughter, Natalie Kalyn Arnold, her sister, Beverly A. Clark of Farmington, IA and her twin sister, Sharon G. Hicks and her husband John of Wappapello, MO, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Sandra was also preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Kay Arnold, her parents,step father, Virgil Kisling and triplet siblings, Berniece May, Barbara Sue and John Dewayne. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2012 at the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, 1527 Madison St, in Quincy, IL, with Rev. Charlie Hayton, Pastor Wayne LaForce and Reverend Paul Womack officiating. Burial was in the Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, IL. Memorials may be made to the Grandchildren's Education Fund or the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene.
