Ruth D. Householder, 90, of Keokuk, IA, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. She was born on December 19, 1921 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Guy Bowen and Sadie Kemper. She was raised by her grandparents and her Uncle Henry. She was first married to Archie K. Trent, Sr. and to this union four children were born, William Archie, Linda, Archie, Jr. and Connie. She married Curtis J. Householder on December 12, 1972. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1996. Ruth had been employed at St. Joseph/Graham /Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk for thirty years. She also had been a private caretaker, caring for people in their homes and did housekeeping. She was a faithful member of New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA. Ruth enjoyed working in her garden and canning the vegetables she grew. She was always proud of her tomato plants which produced many delicious tomatoes. She enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin to visit her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Connie McGinnis and her husband Dennis of Keokuk, IA and Linda Trent of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one son, Archie Trent, Jr. of Canton, MO, one step-daughter, Donna Rickard and her husband Arthur of Hamilton, IL, eight grandchildren, Amy Howell and her husband Shawn, Brandi Aguirre and her husband, Ryan, Haley Nelson, Hillary Hanson and her husband Mark, Kris Trent, Steven Trent, Archie Trent and T.J. Trent, two step grandsons, Steven and Alex Rickard, ten great grandchildren, one sister, Helen LaBonte of Warsaw, IL, and a special nephew, Bruce Bowen of Keokuk. She was also preceded in death by one son at birth, William Archie, her parents, grandparents, her step-mother, Alice and two brothers, Alfred and Harold Bowen. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday,September 15, 2012 at the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Warsaw, IL. Memorials may be made to the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk or Iowa Hospice.
