Russell Jerrud "J Rod" Tallman, 39 of Keokuk died Sunday, October 2, 2016.
He was born April 24, 1977 in Quincy, IL the son of Raymond and Sheryl Scholl Tallman.
Jerrud had been employed by Keokuk Steel Castings and most recently he had been collecting and selling antiques.
He attended New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk.
Jerrud liked spending time outdoors, fishing, camping and skateboarding. He enjoyed football which he had played in junior high school. He also enjoyed woodworking and woodcarving. Jerrud was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding in poker runs and other benefits. He liked to build things and had worked on many home improvement projects around his house.
He is survived by three daughters, Leddia Tallman of Keokuk, Abagayle Tallman and Samantha Cooper Tallman both of Hamilton, IL, Skilee Keefe of Keokuk, who he thought of as a daughter, his parents Ray and Sheryl Tallman of Keokuk, two brothers, Raymond Joseph Tallman of Keokuk and Ryan James Tallman and his wife Courtney of St. Louis, MO, his grandmother, Mary Scholl of Hannibal, MO, his second "mom", Rhonda LeMaster of Keokuk and numerous aunts, uncles, four nieces, one nephew and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by one grandmother, Alice Mahoney and one grandfather, Joe Scholl and one step- grandmother, Dian Scholl.
A funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
Memorials may be made to his children's education fund.
