Russell Rudd, 65, of Keokuk, Iowa died Sunday, October 28, 2007, as a result of a motorcycle accident on River Road. He was enjoying a motorcycle ride on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
He was born March 5, 1942, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Russell I. and Geraldine Kayser Rudd.
He was first married to Linda Spencer on May 29, 1962 in San Diego, California. To this union four children were born. They later divorced. On June 13, 1987, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Graf Lambert Rudd in Keokuk, Iowa. She preceded him in death on February 17, 2007.
He joined the United States Navy in 1960 and proudly served his country for four years. In 2004 he retired from the Dial Corporation in Ft. Madison, Iowa where he worked for thirty years as a maintenance mechanic.Above all else he was a loving dad, grandpa, and great grandpa, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Geraldine Davis of Montrose, IA, three sons, Travis Rudd and his wife Karen of Montrose, IA and their children, Zachary, Quinn and Sasha, Dustin Rudd and his wife Dana and their children Landon and Madison, Eric Rudd and his wife Janet of Washington, MO and their children Emily, Danielle, Brady and Matthew, and Jason Rudd of Montrose, IA and his children Katelyn and Cameron, daughter-in-law, Stacy and her children, Chadie, Keilie and Kenzie, step daughter, Pam Markey and her husband John of Dallas City, IL, two step sons, David Lambert and his wife Casey of Burlington, IA and Danny Lambert and his wife Justine of Keokuk, Iowa, a sister Deanna Weirather and her husband Larry of Montrose, IA, a brother George Rudd and wife Martha of Montrose, IA, many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in the death by his father Russell Rudd and a son Chad Rudd.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 1 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Bill Hayes officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
