Royce Douglas White

Royce Douglas White, 61, of Montrose, IA, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at his home in Montrose. He was born April 7, 1949 in Ft. Madison, IA, the son of Martin and Pauline Ebbling White. On May 21, 2005 he was united in marriage to Carrie Wickham in Montrose, IA. She survives. Other survivors include: his son Donnie White of Terre Haute, IN, his daughter Mary Wilson and her husband Trinitey of Ft. Madison, IA, step-daughter Renell McCoy and her husband Jason of Humble, TX, two grandchildren, Tristen White and Blake Wilson, three step grandchildren, Levi McCoy, Kaden McCoy and Rhilynn McCoy, a sister, Connie Petry and her husband Tom of Keokuk, IA, mother-in-law, Shirley Wickham of Montrose, IA, two sisters-in-law, Marcia Morgan and her husband Davey of Montrose, IA, and Ellen Toops and her husband Mark of Keokuk, IA, a brother -in-law, Tom Wickham and his wife Jean of Montrose, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, James Wickham and two brothers, Martin E, White, Jr. and Jesse Bruce White. Royce graduated from Central Lee High School with the Class of 1967. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at Steel Castings in Keokuk as a fork truck driver for twenty two years, retiring on November 9, 2009. He enjoyed fishing, playing euchre, mushrooming, and playing horseshoes. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Graveside services with military rites were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA with Dr. James Eads officiating. Memorials may be made to the Lee County Hospice. There was no visitation.
