She was born on August 13, 1925 in Kahoka, the daughter of Johnnie and Eda Katharina (Neumann) Acklie. Rovene graduated from Kahoka High School with the Class of 1943 and later continued her education at Gem City College in Quincy, Illinois.

In her remarkable lifetime, she was blessed to celebrate 100 Christmases, 100 New Year’s Days, and 100 birthdays—a true testament to a long life well lived.
