Rosetta Schneider Self, 79, of Concord, NC formerly of Keokuk, died Wednesday December 31, 2014 at the Big Elm Nursing Center in Concord, NC. She was born on March 20, 1935 in Keokuk the daughter of Al and Vernie Allen Protsman. She was united in marriage to Wayne Schneider in 1955. He preceded her in death in 1980. She then married Charles Self. He preceded her in death. Rosetta was a member of the Oakridge Baptist Church in Concord, NC. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. She enjoyed crafts, needlepoint and cross stitch and loved a good game of Canasta. Rosetta loved being with her grandbabies as they were growing up. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. She is survived by four sons, Merle Schneider and his wife Kathy of Concord, NC, Bill Schneider and his wife Patty of Nashville, TN, Otto Schneider and his wife Nan of Loveland, CO, and Raymond Schneider of Keokuk, IA. 16 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren. Two brothers, Paul Protsman and George Protsman, one sister, Edna Hackney. Rosetta was also preceded in death by one son, Russell Schneider and one daughter, Charlene Deb Schneider, two brothers, Joe and Frank Protsman, and two sisters, Mamie Ellefritz and Mary Spellman. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Gregg Wiegel officiating. Burial was in the Scandinavian Cemetery, rural Keokuk.
