Rose B. Ten Eyck, 90, of Kahoka, MO, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO. She was born May 29, 1920 in Kahoka, Missouri the daughter of Samuel W. and Ethel Mae Ryan Benge. She was united in marriage to George Ten Eyck on November 27, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1995. Rose graduated from Burlington Beauty Academy. She owned and operated her own beauty shop "Roses Beauty Lounge" for 22 years. She was also an LPN at St. Joseph Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kahoka and was a member of the Historical Society. Rose enjoyed Kahoka and her many friends especially her roommate Helen Dobbins and everyone at the Clark County Nursing Home. She is survived by her son, Gary Leon Ten Eyck and his wife Sheila of New Caney, TX, three grandchildren, Angela Baird and her husband Paul, Troy Ten Eyck, Megan Ten Eyck-Bolz and her husband Jason all of Houston, TX and two great grandchildren, Preston Reid Baird and Emily Nicole Baird of Houston, TX, a sister, Helen Smith of Ft. Madison and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Gregory. Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Kahoka.
