Rosalee "Rose" Arnold, 90, of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA.
She was born March 6, 1918 in LaHarpe, IL the daughter of Arther and Bertha Mosley Orth. On March 31, 1935 Rosalee was united in marriage to Ernest Arnold in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2008.
Rosalee owned and operated West Burlington Dry Cleaners for 25 years then returned to Keokuk in 1994.
She was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk and a former member of Ladies of the Moose in Burlington, IA. She had been an active volunteer with the Keokuk Red Cross Bloodmobile for several years.
She loved to bowl and was on several different leagues and played in tournaments. She loved to cook, garden and play board games and cards with her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and had been devoted to caring for her family.
Rosalee is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Lee Hawes and her husband Douglas of Lake Villa, IL, two granddaughters, Dawn Hawes of Lake Villa, IL and Cindy Haley and her husband, Mark, of Antioch, IL, four great-grandchildren, Drew Stout, Tiffany Haley, Sarah Haley and Mark Haley Jr., a great-great-granddaughter, Charlotte Rose Haley, and a sister Eleanor Hagmeier of Keokuk.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Diamond.
Funeral services were held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 5 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA.
Memorials may be made to the New Testament Christian Church or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
