Ronald Lee Broadwell, 61, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. He was born on July 13, 1948 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Raymond L. and Betty Tadlock Broadwell. He married Stella Marie Kirchner on August 18, 1974. They later divorced. Ronald graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1966. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Ronald had been employed at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA for nine years. Prior to his employment with the hospital Ron worked in construction. He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA. Ron loved race cars and was proud of his '57 Chevys and Harley sportster. Ronald enjoyed racing and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. Ron also participated in the racing sport as a stock car driver. He is survived by two sons, Jesse Broadwell and Jamey Broadwell and his wife Brandie all of Keokuk, IA, his mother, Betty Wood of Keokuk, seven grandchildren, Madison Broadwell, Morgan Broadwell, Jaxson Broadwell, Steven Gooding, Haylee Broadwell, Jensen Broadwell and Abigail Broadwell and one aunt. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial with military rites was held in the Keokuk National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA.
