Roger Michael "Mick" Bode, 60, of Keokuk, IA, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born September 9, 1948 in Keokuk, IA the son of Merle and Ann Mae Dietrich Bode. He married Jill Boehm and to that union was born one son, Troy Michael Bode. They later divorced. Mick graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1966 and then attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA where he received a degree in tool and dye making. He had been employed at Morse Chain in Keokuk, IA as a machinist. He was of the Christian faith. Mick was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed watching and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago White Sox. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors mushroom hunting and fishing. He is survived by one son, Troy Bode of Keokuk, IA, three grandsons, Ryan, Gauge, and Seth, two sisters, Vye Land and her husband Chuck of Keokuk, IA, Debbie Symmonds and her husband Butch of Hamilton, IL, two brothers, Ronald L. Bode and his wife Sharon K. of Keokuk, IA, and Terry Bode of Keokuk, IA, two sisters-in-law, Sharon L. Bode of Keokuk, IA, Janet Bode of Keokuk, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John W. Bode and M. Dean Bode, his parents and a nephew, Derrick Bode. There will be no services or visitation. Memorials may be made for his grandsons.
