Rodney L. Nichols, Sr.

Rodney L. Nichols Sr., 69, of Memphis and formerly of Luray, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his home in Memphis.

He was born December 21, 1956, in Keosauqua, Iowa, the son of Lowell Vernon and Lena Marie Ayer Nichols.

Rodney graduated from Clark County R-1 High School with the Class of 1975. He was employed at Fruehauf for five years before becoming disabled.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher Nichols, Rodney Nichols Jr., Brandon Wood and Wade Huston; his grandchildren, Colin Nichols, Oliver Nichols, Nevada Wood, Logan Nichols, Carson Nichols and Hayden Huston; his brother, Gilbert Nichols and wife Joyce of St. Charles, Missouri; his sister, Ilene Howell and husband Larry of Wyaconda, Missouri; special friend, Maureen Goodwin; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of the Vigen Memorial Home, and no services or visitation are planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vigen Memorial Home to assist with final expenses.
