Robin R. Fugate, 59 of Keokuk died Monday, September 19, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
She was born August 24, 1957 in LaHarpe, IL the daughter of Howard and Bonnie Cecil Fugate.
Robin graduated from LaHarpe High School with the Class of 1975. She then furthered her education and graduated from Southeastern Community College in Keokuk with an Associates of Arts Degree.
She had worked at United Cities Gas in Keokuk and currently worked in the accounting department at Carry Transit in Keokuk.
Robin was a member of the South Side Boat Club in Keokuk. When she lived in Warsaw, IL she served as a member of the Warsaw City Council for four years.
Robin loved to read and her favorite author was Stephen King. She had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Robin enjoyed crafting and sewing. She was very talented and could do anything including drawing, painting and home remodeling. Robin loved boating and spending time with her family and friends. She was carefree, fun loving and always up for a new adventure. Her warm smile and contagious laugh will be missed by many.
She is survived by one daughter, Amanda Swan and her husband Greg of Keokuk, her "almost" daughter, Kristal Balentine and her husband Terry of Warsaw, one granddaughter Brylee Balentine of Warsaw, IL, her mother, Bonnie Fugate of Keokuk, two brothers, Kevin Fugate and wife Linda of Russellville, AR and Kendall Fugate of Burlington, IA, two sisters, Debbie Forquer of Carthage, IL and Shelly Powelson of Puyallup, WA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and an uncle.
She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, Rodney Fugate and her life partner, James "Herby" Herr.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, September 24, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Mike Shea officiating. Burial was in the Fugate Cemetery in Queen City, MO.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the South Side Boat Club in Keokuk.
Memorials may be made for her granddaughter's education fund.
