Robert LeRoy Hall, Sr., 56, of Marshalltown, IA, formerly of Keokuk, IA died Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Marigold Nursing Home in Galesburg, IL. He was born July 19, 1955 the son of Eugene L. and Ida Land Hall Steele in New Boston, IL. On October 1, 1998 he was united in marriage to Rebecca Cook in Iowa City, IA. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Robert Hall, Jr. of Marshalltown, IA, one daughter, Suzanne Holman of Galesburg, IL, two grandchildren, Nadya and Austin, four brothers, Raymond Hall of Augusta, IA, Allen Hall and his wife Sandy of Keokuk, IA, Donald Steele of Colorado, and James Steele of Keokuk, IA, four sisters, Nettie Dunne and her husband Tom of Galesburg, IL, Alice Hall of Keokuk, IA, Ivy Benedict of Galesburg, IL and Jody Delonjay and her husband Jeff of Quincy, IL, special friends, Ron and Sue , Randy, Mark and Mary and Willy and family and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and one brother, Thomas Hall. Bob attended Keokuk Schools. He had been employed by Macobbis and Lacina doing construction. For the past eight years he had been employed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the maintenance department. Bob was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed playing cards, reading, crossword puzzles and visiting with friends. He was of the Christian faith. A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Oakland Cemetery with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Humane Society.
