Robert Louis Butcher, 69, of Wayland, MO, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born on June 8, 1937 in Hillsboro, OR the son of Raymond H. and Edna Rosencrans Butcher. On December 31, 1959 he was united in marriage to Lora Lee Ferguson in Yankton, SD. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Robert L. Butcher, Jr. and his wife Betty of Armington, IL, three daughters, Sherry Evans and her husband Lindahl of Kahoka, MO, Carla Smith and her husband Roger of Farmington, IA and Wendy Jones and her husband Brady of Albert Lea, MN, fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Wilbur Farvour of Keokuk, IA, three sisters, Lou Bepple of Quincy, WA, Virginia Recchia of Wenatchee, WA and Mary Gallagher of E. Wenatchee, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond S. Butcher. Robert was a graduate of the Kahoka High School. He had been employed at Tri-State Cleaning in Hannibal, MO. He had also worked for Industrial Opportunity in Kahoka, MO. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wayland, MO. Robert enjoyed going hunting and fishing but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 12 at the First Baptist Church in Wayland, MO with Pastor Dan Deatrick officiating. Burial will be in the Vincennes Cemetery in Vincennes, IA. Visitation will be held after 2 p.m., Thursday, January 11 at the First Baptist Church in Wayland, MO with the family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
