Robert William "Bob" Boley, 83 of Keokuk, IA died Monday, December 28, 2015 at his home.
He was born November 6, 1932 in Greenfield, IA the son of John Edward and Grace Elizabeth Thompson Boley. On July 18, 1953 he was united in marriage to Rose Thompson in Keokuk. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Steve (Myra) Boley of Keokuk, Dennis (Brandy) Boley of Keokuk and Mike (Eva) Boley of Warsaw, IL, two daughters, Cheri (Bear) Soper of Warsaw, IL and Debbie Boley of Warsaw, IL, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Grace Bohannon of Midland, TX, Betty Boley of Tucson, AZ and Judy Rodgers of San Tan Valley, AZ and his two loving dogs, Buddy and Nova who were his constant companions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Don, John, Larry and Carl Boley and two sisters, MaryAnn Howes and Jean Hagemeier and one son-in-law, Jim Soper.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force and proudly served his country stateside during the Korean War.
Bob had been employed by Midwest Carbide as an electrician for twenty years until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of the American Legion, the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union and served as past president of the local union.
Bob loved traveling on his motorcycle and was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He was an avid Nascar fan and followed both Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. Bob enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, fishing with his brother-in-law, Leo, attending family gathering and making memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jamiaru 5. 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Reverend John Happs officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw, IL.
