Robert "Bob" W. Wagner, 71, of Keokuk moved on to his next journey, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at his home.
Robert was born on March 6, 1945 in St. Paul, MN the son of Shirley Scott-Wagner
On April 30, 1999 Bob was united in marriage to Mildred Louise Steele in Keokuk. She survives.
Other survivors include, three children, Melissa (Mark) Magnuson, Michael (Mary) Salyers and Russell (Mackenzie Foetisch) Steele all of Keokuk, seven grandchildren, Austin Salyers, Abigail Drouillard, Jordan Salyers, Morgan Salyers, Lizzie Salyers, Trenton Drouillard and Victor Steele, a sister, Judy Johnson of Owatonna, MN, aunt, Dorothy (Jim) Enfield of Park Rapids, MN, sister-in-law, Sandra Jean (Robert) Briggs of Keokuk, a brother-in-law, Leland (Robin) Steele of Keokuk and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, brother-in-law, Mick Johnson, a son-in-law, William Drouillard, mother-in-law, Alma Steele and father-in-law, Russell Steele.
In his younger years Bob hitchhiked all the way from Minnesota to Florida.
He had worked as a commercial fisherman, in construction and doing odd jobs.
Bob loved all sports. He enjoyed reading and the art of painting. Bob also loved to travel and enjoyed every trip he took. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and always cherished the time he spent with them. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. His favorite response to being asked how are you, was "Oh, fair to middlin".
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Larry Wallingford officiating. Burial was in the Buena Vista Mound Cemetery, rural Keokuk.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Keokuk Little League.
