Obituary

Richard Lester Wrieden, known to many as Dick, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born to the late Francis and Lois Wrieden on July 14, 1950.

Dick was a hard worker with many skills. Dick was employed by Falk Corporation in Milwaukee for many years as a tool mechanic. He went on to work in the Construction industry and eventually started a painting company. Dick spent countless hours working on cars and was a talented mechanic. Dick loved cars, especially muscle cars. His prized possession was his 72 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. One of Dick's greatest loves was his pets. He had many pets over the years, but his heart belonged to Furby. Dick had a heart of gold. He didn't know a stranger. He always offered a helping hand. Dick was loved and known to many. He will be dearly missed.

Dick is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Lynda Wrieden. Children: Cheryl Gibson (Dan), Richard Wrieden Jr (Julie), John Wrieden (Vel), Maria Wrieden (Willie) all of Keokuk IA. Grandchildren: Jordyn, Jennifer, Sarah, Shirine, Riki, Scott, TJ, Beth, Aaron and 17 great-grandchildren. Sister Sharon Duncan, and brothers, Jake Wrieden (Carry), Terry Wrieden, Mike Wrieden (Robin), Chuck Wrieden (Tracy) and two sisters-in-law, Sheilda Wrieden and Mary Wrieden.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lois, his daughter, Patricia Wrieden, granddaughter, Danielle Wrieden, and siblings: Butch Wrieden, John Wrieden, Lenny Wrieden, Charlene Sapp (Hunk), Rob Wrieden, Danny Wrieden. Dick was also preceded by friends that were dear to him: Dave Schlesner, Sam Kay, CW and Rosey Bergheger, Maude and Easy Wilson, Joe Jones, Jim Reittinger, and Velarie Wrieden and many others that made their mark in his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Knights of Columbus in Keokuk, with family meeting with friends at that time.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
